My Story…
We want to Celebrate the Freedom of Slaves in Texas which came 2.5 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued on January 1, 1863, the order was harder to enforce in the rebel state of Texas due to the lack of Union Troops, but on June 19, 1865, Union Soliders arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce the End of the Civil War and the Abolition of Slavery.
