This Juneteenth, The Container Store team joins the Walk for Freedom honoring the civil rights legacy of Opal Lee, known as the "Grandmother of Juneteenth." A woman who turned hope into action when at age 89, she walked from Fort Worth to Washington, D.C. to demand Juneteenth be recognized as a national holiday. Thanks to her courage and persistence, that dream became reality in 2021.
